The Story of Objet

The Story of Objet

The Beginning of a Movement

Jeffrey T. Larson and Dean Forbes saw a distance between the mastery of living realist painters and the recognition their work received. Jeff brought a lifetime in painting. Dean brought a lifelong love of art and decades of building brands. Together, they founded Objet, a movement driven to restore the cultural prestige of master-level representational art. Their ambition is to give this living tradition a presence equal to its extraordinary craft.

Our Artist

Lifelong Mastery

Our story begins with Jeffrey T. Larson, whose paintings bring decades of classical training into the present. Working from life, he studies the relationships of light, color and form, finding subjects in the people, places and everyday objects around him. Each painting grows from close observation and a personal way of seeing.

For Objet, mastery lives in that meeting of discipline and individual vision. We are drawn to work that carries a love of the visible world, shaped by a trained eye. Jeff's practice brings that belief to life and helps set the standard for what comes next.

The Road Ahead

One Mission, Two Sides

Objet brings two sides of one mission together. The agency creates opportunity through artist representation, storytelling and connections with collectors. The foundation is dedicated to cultural impact, advancing education and preserving the knowledge of the craft so it can be understood, practiced and passed between generations.

As the movement grows, we intend to create more opportunities to encounter the work, learn from artists and understand the lives behind the paintings. The ambition is lasting: to help this tradition thrive, and give beauty a greater place in our culture.

“Craftsmanship gives an artist the freedom to express what a trained eye can see.”

CONTEMPORARYCLASSICISM

[kuhn-TEM-puh-rair-ee · KLAS-ih-siz-um] · noun · English

A living approach to representational art that brings classical training into the present. It joins disciplined observation with an artist's personal vision, drawing on centuries of knowledge to describe the world we inhabit now. Tradition becomes a foundation for new work, shaped by the life and eye of each artist.

Art has always been part of Dean Forbes' life. Raised in a family of artists, he grew to value the eye and hand behind the work. That early connection stayed with him through decades of building brands. In Objet, it finds a personal purpose: bringing exceptional living artists the recognition their work deserves.

At Objet, Dean brings a lifelong love of art into a shared cultural vision. He wants to help people understand the skill behind the paintings and build a closer relationship with the artists who make them. His aim is cultural as well as creative, bringing attention to beauty and creating a place for others who value it.
