Beet Juice
Jeffrey T. LarsonPresented by Objet
Jeff first came to appreciate beets when his in-laws pulled them from their garden and cooked them. Their earthy sweetness was a surprise, but their color held an even stronger fascination. Beneath a dull, cool exterior, a cut beet revealed a crimson bright enough to stain his fingertips.
That transformation became the starting point for Beet Juice. In water, the color spread into a brilliant dye. Set against turquoise, it offered Jeff the vivid relationship that made these familiar vegetables a subject for painting.
