Blue River

On a bright spring day, the Amnicon carries the blue of the sky across its warmer, muddy water. The trees are still bare, and the river near Jeff's home has slowed into a quiet eddy. This is the meeting of colors that drew him to Blue River.

Farther upstream, the same water tumbles through red stone and over falls. Here, near Lake Superior, its slower surface offers another kind of movement as cool and warm colors answer each other. Jeff's subject is a familiar river transformed by the light of a particular hour.
