Bread & Styrofoam

Fresh bread and Styrofoam meet in an arrangement that contrasts tone, value, and time. Jeff thinks of bread as something shaped by hands, an enduring pleasure passed through generations. Beside it, the manufactured material brings the speed of a changing world into view.

Jeff's grandfather, born in 1905, felt that life in his early years was closer to the distant past than to the modern world he lived to see. Bread & Styrofoam holds that thought within an everyday pairing. For Jeff, progress still leaves room for a simple choice, warm bread made as it has been made for centuries.
