Cisco Disco

Smoked ciscoes had appeared in Jeff's paintings many times before this unlikely arrangement took shape. Their golden surfaces kept offering new reflections, often in conversation with silver. A sketch of fish circling a sphere stayed with him for years until the sphere became a disco ball.

Gold scales and mirrored fragments sent light across the room, giving him the color, atmosphere, and complexity he had imagined. The arrangement demanded months of work and more than a little doubt. Cisco Disco brings a long affection for a familiar subject into a world Jeff felt needed to exist.
