Contemplation

A child sits at the edge of a deep pool, where cool water meets warm granite. Jeff is interested in why a place like this feels so right to inhabit. He looks for the answer in relationships between space, natural forms, color, and the other sensations that make a place whole.

Contemplation connects that experience in nature with the work of painting. Jeff describes the artist's task as composing, balancing, and editing toward a deeper harmony of shapes, hues, lines, and drawing. What many people pause to enjoy, he spends his life trying to understand and bring onto canvas.
