Dancing Light

Early morning light moves across the waves of Lake Superior. In Dancing Light, Jeff faces the rising sun and the water slowly lapping toward shore. The painting begins with the shifting reflections that give it its name.

He stood only twenty or thirty feet from the place where he painted Morning Reflections. There, his attention turned back toward the river. Here, a change in direction opened the same small stretch of shore onto the lake and its moving light.
