Pier A Silos

Jeff painted several studies of Pier A while preparing for the larger canvas. Each tested the site at another hour and in another light. Pier A Silos was the study he felt had turned out best.

For the larger painting, he chose a different time of day with a more reliable light effect. This study preserves the view that stood apart during that exploration. The same weathered monument becomes a different painting through a change in light.
