Red Rocks

Jeff painted Red Rocks at the end of a road in Red Rocks Park near Boulder, Colorado. Warm sandstone, thin mountain air, and the scent of sage and pine formed the setting. It was one of the smaller places that began to hold his attention after years of painting in the region.

Earlier visits had often led him toward the mountains and their majesty. Over time, he found himself looking for more intimate scenes and distinctive formations. Red Rocks belongs to that changing interest, a closer encounter within a landscape he had returned to many times.
