Vintage

Jeff found himself paying more attention to the crates carrying his friends' wine than to the vintages inside. The variety of containers began to gather in his studio, each offering a new interest in shape, material, and design. What started as a gradual collection became eighteen months of concentrated painting.

Vintage led him to think about wine and people as lives formed over time, each leaving an impression on those who encounter them. He sees worth in every kind of vessel and background when the light allows its beauty to become visible. The painting brings that reflection back to the objects whose unexpected appeal first made him look.
