White Tricycle

White Tricycle appears to be white on white, yet pure white paint occurs only in small accents. Pale blues, buttery yellows, and warm earth tones carry its subtler relationships. Jeff spent three years working through the possibilities of that restrained range.

Several times he believed the painting was complete, only to feel that something remained to be discovered. He describes the process as a fog lifting from his eyes, each return revealing more of what was already there. What he learned through White Tricycle became something he could celebrate in the work that followed.
