Winter Cattails

Late March brought deep snow followed by a sudden spell of warmth. Jeff and Brock went out to the creek in short sleeves and painted side by side. Golden reeds, a crust of snow, and the welcome warmth of the sun gave them their subjects.

Winter Cattails was painted within a couple of days of its companion, Snowy Cattails. Both came from that brief period at the end of a hard winter. This painting preserves another encounter with the reeds and snow that held their attention beside the creek.
